Our solar panel recycling process –
- Removes the aluminium frames and the electrical junction box from the panels
- De-laminates the glass from the panel
- Shreds the de-laminated glass panel
CdTe and CIGS solar cells contain cadmium, a toxic heavy metal with a tendency to accumulate in the food chain. Solder used in solar panel installation also contains lead. Most parts of a solar panel can be recycled of certain semiconductor materials or the glass as well as large amounts of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
ACE’s solar panel recycling facility provides an environmentally friendly solution with a high recovery rate of approximately 95%.
